The document is genuine. The person is the person on it.
Two questions, deliberately kept apart: a real document in the wrong hands and a real person with a forged one fail for different reasons, and a reviewer needs to know which.

On the handset
The quality gate runs before the upload
- 1
Rejected frames stay local
A blurred or cropped frame is refused while the player still has the document in their hand. That turns a failed check into a retake, which is the difference between an abandoned registration and a completed one.
- 2
Encrypted per session
Keys are per session, not per account, so a captured payload is useless outside the check it belongs to.
- 3
Into your region
The upload goes to the processing region chosen for your account and does not leave it.

Acceptance is per market: a licence that satisfies a UK registration may not satisfy a German one.
Coverage is by issuing authority rather than by country, because several countries issue more than one accepted series.
Checks that the document's own fields agree with each other before comparing them to anything you supplied.
Required before the face match, so a photograph of a photograph fails at the first step.
The threshold is your policy value for that market, not ours.
The template exists for the comparison and is discarded at the decision. The score and the verdict are what persist.
